Agency Goals       

Alabama Medicaid Agency:
Decrease costs per elderly / disabled and Patient 1st per member per month by 5%, adjusted for inflation, by FY2012.
Board of Forever Wild Land Trust:
Acquire at least 7,500 acres of land per year for a wide variety of stated public recreational uses and resource conservation through FY2012.
Department of Economic and Community Affairs:
Reduce the number of traffic related fatalities and injuries by improving key aspects of highway traffic safety programs.
Department of Human Resources:
To reduce the number of open protective service (PS) children entering foster care (FS) from open protective service cases by 15% by the end of FY2013.

To achieve timely permanency by reducing the average number of months children remain in foster care by 9% by the end of FY2012.

Serve 100% of eligible children in need of subsidized day care by the end of 2011.

Reduce the average number of months from entry into care to adoption finalization to less than 24 months by the end of FY2010.

To increase participation in the Food Stamp Program to 70% of the eligible population by the end of FY2011.

Department of Mental Health:
By 2012, a continuum of outcome supported prevention, treatment, and recovery support services for adults will be available in every county.

By FY2012, The number of children and adolescents served will increase by 10% over the FY 2008 level by expanding the continuum of care.

By FY2012, 600 people per year on waiting list will receive one new service.

By 2012, the employment rate will increase from 20% to 26% for individuals receiving employment-type services through the MR waiver. (national benchmark employment rate is 24%)

Department of Public Safety:
To Issue 2,000,000 licenses and Administer 250,000 Exams with a wait time of less than 1 hour.
Department of Rehabilitation Services:
By 2010, increase the number of children/youth with disabilities aged 0-21 served by 25%.

By 2009 increase from 1600 to 2000 the number of persons with severe disabilities receiving services.

By 2010 increase from 71% to 75% the number of people with significant disabilities who obtain employment.

By 2011 increase the number of Alabamians 55 and older with vision loss that receive services to 1918.

By 2011 increase from 240 to 700 the number of families benefiting from respite care services.

By FY2010, increase the number of babies under the age of three with developmental delays served through AEIS from 4,640 to 5,640.

Department of Senior Services:
Empower 5,614 seniors to adopt healthier lifestyles by providing them with wellness information by Fiscal Year 2014.

Increase the number of meals served to socially-isolated seniors at 4.598 million by Fiscal Year 2012.

Department of Veterans Affairs:
To provide long-term quality nursing home care at an affordable price to the maximum number of qualified veterans.
Department of Youth Services:
Increase the number of courts having community diversion programs available by 100% by 2013.
Kidney Foundation:
Provide and process 8,000 transportation assistance requests annually by 2011.
Office of Faith Based & Community Initiatives:
Promote and expand the number of volunteers participating in AmeriCorps and Citizen Corps to 3,500 by 2011.
Sickle Cell Oversight/Regulatory Commission:
By 2012, a baseline counseling of 80% will be established for parents of infants identified with sickle cell trait on the Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) Newborn Screening report.
Department of Conservation & Natural Resources:
To provide exceptional visitor services that consistently garner at least a 90% visitor approval rating by the end of FY10.

To be 80% self sustaining in park operations by the end of FY11.

Department of Public Health:
To identify, enroll and refer uninsured families for health care coverage for their children so that a minimum of 74,000 are enrolled by the end of FY2009.

To increase the number of WIC clients served per month.

To identify metabolic disorders in newborns by increasing the number of disorders screened.

To provide drug therapy for 1530 HIV positive patients.

To reduce infant morbidity and mortality by identifying their contributing factors and taking steps to mitigate them.
Department of Finance:
To reduce energy consumption by 20% by 2010. (Capitol M&R)
